Jason Blake
Artwork & Production Manager.
Jason is our longest standing member of Standout and is focussed on all things print production. He began his career as a junior designer within the Retail Point of Sale sector before moving into the print literature arena. Starting off as a creative artworker swiftly led to the position of Studio Manager. After a seven year commitment he decided to broaden his experience of work, people and clients and became a freelance designer in 2001. Meeting Dan and Standout early on it soon became clear that the company was the perfect career path.
As Head of Production at Standout my extensive knowledge of Print Production Techniques the understanding of paper and material finishes forms part of each offline project. Working closely with both the Account Managers and Creative Designers to achieve the desired look and feel of print on paper to enhance it’s impact further. I focus mainly on artworking and the management of final files through the production process with our key suppliers to fulfil budget, quality and speed of delivery for all our clients.
What is your favourite film?
My favourite film is an absolute classic with an all star cast; James Garner, Richard Attenborough, Charles Bronson, Donald Pleasence and with Steve McQueen’s role as The Cooler King of course it’s The Great Escape.
What is your favourite Sandwich?
I’ve always loved, in true Gordon Ramsey style, clean simply good food and so for me it’s the classic BLT… Perfect!
Which three people would you invite to a dinner party?
For the ideal dinner party I would love to have Paddy McGuinness and Danny Dyer adding a good mix of North and South banter. As for my third guess it’s a tough one but I’ve always been a big fan of Christopher Walken and would love to know if he’s as quirky in real life as he is with the parts he plays like Frank White in A King of New York and cameos like Captain Koons in Pulp Fiction.
