Mat left a high profile agency for the then smaller company that was Standout, he shared the collective vision that is now realised in Standout as a serious competitor to well known Global agencies. Mat boosted the digital service offering with commercial experience in high-end Flash websites and large-scale web application development. With a background in design and advanced skills in several programming languages, Mat helps bridge the gap between front and back-end website development.
Standout was always the kind of agency I needed to be with. Here I have daily challenges and a variety of work that keeps me constantly searching for new and innovative solutions to push the boundaries, instead of just trying to tread water.
The people at Standout are not driven by the need to earn credit from their peers but by the desire to fulfil and exceed our clients expectations. If we always try and be creative in both design and technology whilst never losing sight of the brief in question, we will earn the respect of the people with whom it really matters.
We’re all different here, and I think that’s a great asset to the company. We all love our work, and that’s what drives us but my motivation also comes from my personal life. My family and other interests are very important to me. I enjoy photography, which can help with work but also music and drawing. More active pursuits of mine include motorcycling and snowboarding. I was originally a designer and I still enjoy going back to basics with a pencil and pen, portraiture and Celtic knotwork being my favoured areas.

My Family. My wife Kat and my two boys Cameron and Reuben are a big part of my life, nothing happens without them.

What is your favourite Copella juice?
Apple & Raspberry. It’s the most amazing flavour ever, really picks you up in the morning.
What is your Favourite Radio station?
BBC 6 Music. The only station that plays real music.
