HB Group (Furniture Retail)

From time to time I receive emails from the HB Group, Furniture Designer and retailer...

Despite receiving them once every six months, every time I receive the email I can’t help but look at the site…..the creativity and simplicity of the products, completely astound me. I feel more and more drawn every link I click and every product I look at.

The tact they use to sell their product is a very around about the subject; they don’t advertise all their products online, just enough to entice you to keep looking and maybe even order a brochure.

That’s right you can’t order online; and considering the day and age we live in and the amount of spending that happens online, you’d think e-commerce would be something they would invest in.

However, their choice of marketing seems to work very well for them, they clearly want to be perceived a certain way, so by making you order a brochure they are creating the illusion that you are part of secret, chic, designer furniture club!! Which I am happy to a part of!

The (one) time I did order a brochure, it was beautifully presented, they had clearly thought long and hard about all the fine details of the brochure, the imagery and colours were clean and sharp, the stock it was printed on had a luxurious matt feel, each page was crafted to perfection, it didn’t feel like you were holding a furniture brochure, it felt like you were looking through a piece creative genius.

Back to my original point, how can a company really survive without some sort of e-commerce solution?

I believe, if the way in which the product is marketed is effective and the furniture (in this case) is unquestionably great, then why follow the crowd!
