STANDOUT creates website for the ‘We are Making a Difference’ charity marathon
STANDOUT's long standing relationship with the Gentleman's Night Out (GNO) charity has led to our donation of their new sister website 'We are Making a Difference'. Inspired by the Marathon runners from GNO, We are Making a Difference was formed to promote, encourage and facilitate the participation in official running events, in which the proceeds raised would go on to help make a difference in people's lives.
We are Making a Difference are hoping to sign up 250 runners to run on behalf and alongside them at the World Half Marathon in Birmingham,
which takes place on
Sunday 11th October.
Unlike other charities, We are Making a Difference has no overheads and no administration charges therefore funds raised by the charity solely
goes on to help
make a difference to people's lives. The charity fund a wide variety of worthy causes;
the Special Olympics, St Mary's Hospice and
Whizz Kids being just a few of these.
They also help terminally ill children and their families, pensioners and war widows, young people with learning
difficulties as well as children with physical disabilities,
both with financial and moral support.
STANDOUT's MD Dan Barber participated in the marathon last year and encourages people to get involved: "The marathon is a real opportunity to give back. We can see real people with real problems being helped and it's a fantastic feeling to know that you've been able to give them such life changing opportunities."
If you are interested in running for We are Making a Difference, it is an excellent opportunity to get fit, have fun and meet new people (and possibly bump into Paula Radcliffe if she decided to run)!
