BRIEF
Standout were given the opportunity to work on the research, redevelopment and new creation of Monster Munch packs, bringing them back to retro style of the 70’s and 80’s. Monster Munch were going to do their bit by returning the mighty snack to its original size. (Yes, they did get smaller!). Roast Beef, Pickled Onion and Flamin Hot were all to return in their original packaging, with some new additions and added features provided by Standout.

SOLUTION

A flash based interactive brand website that engaged viewers in to a ‘Find Our Monsters’ campaign and engaged people with the Retro styled relaunch. The site contained references to other retro items of the original Monster Munch era. Standout incorporated an online game into the site to support the offline campaign of finding the original Monsters.

THE IMPACT OF OUR WORK
Since the launch of the new retro packaging, Roast Beef Monster Munch outsells Walkers Cheese and Onion, wherever they are sold together. Cheese and Onion being the perennial front runner in this sector.
All 3 Monster munch flavours reside in the top 20 snacks within this sector.

The retro designed packs have contributed to a 35% growth on the big eat version of this favourite snack, taking the brand to £47Million.
