BRIEF
To create a concept and communication piece that would drive enthusiasm through to the front line operation teams and managers. We needed to harness the essence of the 2010/2011 Operations Vision and ensure we delivered it in a captivating, memorably and motivating way. Our main objective was to communicate key goals for 2010 and 2011 within the business, goals based around sustainability, recycling etc, as well as communicate to the front line teams that they are valued, respected and held in extremely high regard. In addition it was important that we presented PepsiCo. International in a good light and highlighted the large number of positive aspects of the organisation.

SOLUTION
This was a tough brief, from a complexity and timing perspective. We needed to quickly understand this aspect of the international business and quickly gain sign off to a concept and begin the time consuming process of animation. Creative collaboration was key and we worked really closely with the PepsiCo. Ops teams on this project. It was Clare who gave us the metaphor of the Ski champ, following a couple of hours of a coffee and croissants in a hotel lobby!

Once we had the concept Standout began core look illustrations and scamp visuals. The timing was critical on this campaign as the organisation had an non negotiable conference deadline of January 14th, 2010 – so of course we had Christmas in the way! Fortunately, they loved the core look first time so we could crack on with story boards and animations.

Standout wrote the scripts and handed back to the PepsiCo teams for amendment and addition of key facts. Once this was signed off we created the entire animation from scratch. The Standout animation and project management team worked all through Christmas and on January the 11th (with no movement for significant alteration) provided the first draft of the animation. It was really well received……Thank goodness!! After a few changes and additions the animation was signed off and presented at the conference.

THE IMPACT OF OUR WORK

Anybody that sees this animation always comments on how lovely it is and good a feeling they get from it. In terms of its effectiveness in communicating the required messages to the front line operations teams, it has been a huge success. Following the animation we have created a number of various offline collateral items that carry the same core look and messaging.
