Petmania is Ireland’s largest specialist pet retailer and has traditional bricks and mortar shops in a number of locations across the country. In 2020 and during the initial Covid lockdown they wanted to expedite their plans in launching an integrated (with their back office) eCommerce store and be up and running within the three or four summer months. Petmania are stockists of a wide range of well known branded products as well as providing own-label goods. They also have a number of ancillary services, including a highly successful dog grooming operation throughout Ireland. This new and fully integrated eCommerce solution would replace their previous (well-ranked) information website.
The main objectives with this project were to make a site live quickly, have the eCommerce store fully connected and integrated with Swan Retail’s SRS system and to quickly establish the website as a credible sales channel with clear year one sales targets.
INTEGRATED AGENCY SERVICES COME IN TO PLAY
As well as designing and building a cutting edge WordPress/WooCommerce solution, we were also asked to provide a launch strategy and route-to-market communications plan. This multi-page document would provide a clear road map on how to launch the eCommerce store and through which channels. As an integrated agency providing a full suite of marketing and design related services, we’re able to view all angles of an eCommerce launch, from initial planning and concept stage, through to launch and marketing and awareness campaigns and strategies.
Whilst we’re not a liberty to divulge any financial information, we have achieved all the objectives originally set for this project and more quickly than forecasted. The bulk website traffic was already there of course – a result of their well-ranked (on Google) previous website – and along with the newly acquired traffic the site is performing well with conversion rates beyond those originally expected and an average order value 110% higher than expected.
